Finance and Accounting Associate

About This Role

DAP Brands is looking for a Finance and Accounting Associate with hands-on bookkeeping experience, particularly in revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting reliable financial reporting. We are seeking someone who is detail-oriented, structured, and confident in core accounting processes, not just familiar with them.

What You'll Do

• Core Bookkeeping & Financial Operations
• Maintain accurate financial records using the accrual method
• Perform revenue recognition accurately and consistently
• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, tracking collections, and reconciling balances
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice review, posting, and vendor reconciliation
• Perform bank and account reconciliations regularly
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of all financial transactions
• Financial Reporting Support
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports
• Support internal reviews by ensuring data accuracy and completeness
• Identify discrepancies and resolve them proactively
• Compliance & Documentation
• Maintain organized and audit-ready financial documentation
• Follow company policies, accounting standards, and basic US accounting practices
• Support audits by providing clear financial data and explanations when required
• Coordination & Communication
• Respond to internal finance-related inquiries clearly and professionally
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams regarding billing and payments

What We're Looking For

• Must have experience working with U.S.-based clients
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Prior experience in U.S. accounting/bookkeeping processes preferred
• Proven experience in:
• Revenue recognition
• Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting
• Experience using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero)
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain accounting processes clearly and logically
